MAPL: Move-anywhere proximate layout

چکیده
MAPL is a journaling file system providing advanced data management features like snapshots and clones. It is also designed to show read/write performance near that of raw disk access for both random and sequential access patterns. Further, the system is designed to show stable I/O performance over time, regardless of the workload placed on it. Important goals of the design are that MAPL seeks to make I/O to the active file system behave like I/O to a LUN on a hardware-based RAID array, while minimizing performance overhead caused by snapshots. Specifically, MAPLminimizes the effects on write activity of snapshot creation, as well as the effects of the presence of snapshots on ongoing I/O. Like the frame arrays it mimics, MAPL is optimized for large files, and its performance goals center on them.

The Evolutionary History of MAPL (Mitochondria-Associated Protein Ligase) and Other Eukaryotic BAM/GIDE Domain Proteins
MAPL (mitochondria-associated protein ligase, also called MULAN/GIDE/MUL1) is a multifunctional mitochondrial outer membrane protein found in human cells that contains a unique BAM (beside a membrane) domain and a C-terminal RING-finger domain. MAPL has been implicated in several processes that occur in animal cells such as NF-kB activation, innate immunity and antiviral signaling, suppression ...
متن کاملCargo-Selected Transport from the Mitochondria to Peroxisomes Is Mediated by Vesicular Carriers
Mitochondria and peroxisomes share a number of common biochemical processes, including the beta oxidation of fatty acids and the scavenging of peroxides. Here, we identify a new outer-membrane mitochondria-anchored protein ligase (MAPL) containing a really interesting new gene (RING)-finger domain. Overexpression of MAPL leads to mitochondrial fragmentation, indicating a regulatory function con...
متن کاملA Multiagent Planning Language
This paper discusses specific features of planning in multiagent domains and presents concepts for a multiagent extension of PDDL, the Multiagent Planning Language MAPL (“maple”). MAPL uses non-boolean state variables and thus allows to describe an agent’s ignorance of facts as well as a simplified mutex concept. The time model of MAPL is based on Simple Temporal Networks and allows both quanti...
متن کاملMAPL is a new mitochondrial SUMO E3 ligase that regulates mitochondrial fission.
The modification of proteins by the small ubiquitin-like modifier (SUMO) is known to regulate an increasing array of cellular processes. SUMOylation of the mitochondrial fission GTPase dynamin-related protein 1 (DRP1) stimulates mitochondrial fission, suggesting that SUMOylation has an important function in mitochondrial dynamics. The conjugation of SUMO to its substrates requires a regulatory ...
متن کاملMAPL: a Framework for Multiagent Planning with Partially Ordered Temporal Plans
This paper discusses the specifics of planning in multiagent environments. It presents the formal framework MAPL (“maple”) for describing multiagent planning domains. MAPL allows to describe both qualitative and quantitative temporal relations among events, thus subsuming the temporal models of both PDDL 2.1 and POP. Other features are different levels of control over actions, modeling of agent...
